Eternal life (Gr. zoe) is not a long life when we die. The gospel calls us to lay hold, here and now, of the eternal zoe life that was intended for each of us. The subject of ‘life’ is more difficult than it appears, because there is human life and there is eternal life. These are completely different qualities of life. How do we inherit eternal life? How do we become who the Father, Son and Holy Spirit want us to be for eternity?
